Announcing the  11th Annual Reiche International on October 28th, 2018!

This year’s theme:  The World of  Witches, Wizards & Magic Creatures!

Summon your inner Hermione, Harry, Merlin or Samantha and don your favorite cape, cloak or robe to this beloved community event.

Join us for a beautiful 5 kilometer run through Portland’s scenic West End neighborhood at the peak of the Fall season. The race supports Maine’s most ethnically diverse elementary school, Reiche Community School, by funding enrichment programs aimed at physical activity and inclusion.

We will again feature a centipede division—open to three or more closely attached runners.

As always, participants are invited to wear a costume and walkers are welcome!

The race starts and ends at Reiche Community School. The well-marked single loop course begins on Brackett Street and continues through the streets of the West End including Chadwick, Neal, Pine and Spring Streets. It includes one climb—behind the Western Prom Cemetery. Otherwise it’s fast and flat.

High quality T-shirt  discounted for those who pre-register by October 15!

Prizes awarded for all ages!

Fun Run:   A  Free Race for 8 and under around the school.
Register the morning of the race.  Fun Run starts at 8:45am

Do more than run!  Become a host! Or a Sponsor!

We invite all community members to join the Host Committee

Last year was a big milestone for the Reiche 5K. We had a great turn out and a lot of fun. For the first time, a host committee was formed to allow community members to elevate their show of support.  Membership donations start at $100. Members of the committee are simply asked to be ambassadors of Reiche School and this event to the other communities of which they are members. The funds raised allow for all Reiche students to run the Reiche 5K for free. Please consider  becoming a member of the Host Committee.

For ten years, the Reiche 5K has been supported by the generous support of community volunteers and local business sponsors.  Last year a new way for you, the Reiche Community to elevate their support of this cherished neighborhood event was created: A host committee.  Please consider becoming a member of the Host Committee.   Your only other duty is to spread the word about the 5K to the other communities of which you are a part. Tell people at work, at the gym, at your place of worship about this fun 5K and our amazing school community.  Your $100 donation will contribute to the success of our 11th  year run! It will again allow us to extend free registration to any Reiche student who would like to participate in the race. For your generosity, you will receive the following perks:
